Closing of Pamlico County Middle School

The Pamlico County Middle School (formerly known as Pamlico County Central/Training School, which served during the period of segregation as an educational institution forl back youth) will be decommissioned as a learning institution in June of 2026. All educational services will be transferred to the newly built K1-K12 facility located a few miles west of the current site. NAACP representatives are working with a local nonprofit organization to acquire the property and transform the facilities and campus into a Community Resource and Recreation Facility to serve the citizens of Pamlico County.
